Investigation: AFL Demands FDA Records On Nationwide Formula Shortage

Washington, D.C. – Today, America First Legal (“AFL”) initiated an investigation into the Food and Drug Administration’s (“FDA”) role in the current nationwide baby formula shortage. AFL filed a Freedom of Information Act request to obtain records that will show if, and when, the FDA began preparing for this shortage and what, if any, steps it took to mitigate its effects.

Statement from America First Legal President Stephen Miller:

America First Legal is committed to ethical, accountable, responsive government. The crippling national formula crisis is a government-created tragedy of immense proportions that is inflicting long-lasting harm on our youngest citizens and excruciating pain on moms and dads. Americans are entitled to precise, transparent information about the Administration’s conduct – and exactly what they knew and when. In particular, we must get to the bottom of the FDA’s role in this heartbreaking calamity. The American people deserve answers – and we intend to get them,” Stephen Miller said.
